About the guest:
Nim Stant - I came from the third-world country of Thailand, from a lower-middle-class family. I didn't have an MBA or go to business school. I'm just a regular person like you who has a dream, trying to walk every day of my life with great intention. What I learn is based on my life experience and so much of my stories about the challenges on the personal and professional levels. I think it applies to many different types of people from all walks of life.
My journey began as a classical Thai dancer at a very young age and has continued this path for over twenty years. I went to India and learned Indian Classical Dance for my Master's degree and have become a very well-known Asian-Contemporary dancer and choreographer in Asia. I am also a devoted Ashtanga yoga practitioner and experienced yoga teacher/influencer for over 15 years. I love teaching yoga and seeing the meaningful change in people's lives.
In 2015, I became a founder of Yoga Business Mastery and taught Yoga Business Teacher Training programs, advanced yoga workshops, hosted yoga retreats at my retreat center, Samadhi Retreat Center in Thailand, and coached countless yoga teachers and yoga studio owners to improve their business success. In 2020, I founded Go All In media and committed to teaching the world the art of truly living an extraordinary, fulfilling, joyful, prosperous life. I believed that "Our lives are part of a bigger plan that the universe has for us. We need to seek it, believe in it, and live every day with full intention. We can achieve anything we want and mean to be." The end goal for my life is to "leave a legacy."
My joy is to wake up every day, spend time with my family and my two children, Sam and Sariah, and live life with the fullest potential. I believe you also can do the same.

Howard Brown:Hello, welcome to the Shining Brightly show. This is Howard Brown, your Maestro with a mic. Oh my god, you're in for a good one today. I'm so excited to have again stamp join me, Nim. Welcome, welcome. Welcome.
Howard Brown:How are you?
Nim Stint:Thank you so much, Howard, how are you so good to have you. Good to be with you here.
Howard Brown:That's okay. I'm excited because Nim and I met maybe a little less than a year ago. And we've been following each other. And I became her client, and she's become my coach. And she's really helped me in so many ways, promote my brand, promote my book, get me on TV. So this is my chance to bring them back and tell my audience and the world about herself and all the good stuff she is doing and how much she's helping people. So nem I'm just thrilled that you're with me today. And we've got a great show. And you're going to tell your story. So nem is amazing, okay, she came to this country from Thailand, with basically nothing in her pockets. And she worked really hard, okay, to be able to make her American Dream Dream come true. And provide from her family and her children. And now I want to tell you that it takes a lot of work, people don't remember that, that you are climbing the mountain brick by brick, Pebble by pebble. And so just share a little bit more about your journey and how you got to be such a notable influencer, a best selling author, a keynote speaker, a TEDx trainer, and so much more. So tell us about your journey.
Nim Stint:Howard, I'm very honored to be here with you. And thank you so much for the time that we can discuss this so that we can share our impact to our audience together. So I always want to say work hard in silence. You know, you don't have to tell the world your dream, your vision, what project that you are about to do. Because guess what, that can stop you that can slow you down. So when I first came to United States, I was 21 year so I'm 43 right now. And I didn't know English, I didn't have much money, I only have $300 in my pocket. And I didn't know anybody. So no English, no money, no conviction. And I came here with the faith that I will serve God at that time, I came here as a volunteer missionary for the Church. And and I'm grateful for the church that you know, support me providing the food and place to live and work to do. And this is how I start to learn English, I have to learn English very, very fast. So I can communicate with people I still remember. I was in the English training center and I standing behind the guy in front of me waiting to order my food at the cafeteria. And whatever she ordered I copy he might memorize what he ordered mashed potato and chicken and whatever. And then I order like Kim and I had mashed potato How're the texture it just like baby's food. So but that's how I learned English by memorizing and copy what this said. And you know, I carry my dictionary, my little dictionary everywhere. I believe that everyone here on earth has the plan and the plan is even bigger than we ever can imagine. So I feel very blessed I that I know what I want. And I don't slow down I go get it right away. The discipline that I have is came from many years of professional dance training. So I have a background in dance, bachelor degree in Thai classical dance master degree in Indian classical dance from India. And I remember my teacher said if a woman can stay it could live in India by herself. She can live everywhere in the world and that's that's me. So I was in India for two years by myself and study. So that hard work that disciplines of Many hours of practice and trading eight hours a day, for the whole two years helped me as an entrepreneur, to not give up easy, I always like to tell people that, you know, you are Three Feet From Gold, right? If you don't quit, you can win. Because the winner is the loser who try one more time. And I keep that word in my mind in my action every single day, Howard. I mean, I work hard, I tie it to you know, I burn, right? Just like many people, but I go to sleep. And the next day I get up and do it again. The repetition, right? That is going to get you somewhere consistent is going to get you to your destination. So
Howard Brown:I love I love the fact that you use dance that that movement, that artistic expression as your core. That's where you grew from. Yeah. And I'll know no more mashed potatoes. Don't worry, we're not going to do that anymore.
Howard Brown:When you take me out for lunch, yes. No, no
Howard Brown:mashed potatoes. We're good on that for sure. So that that's really impressive. Because the amount of sheer effort, okay to move to a brand new country with very little money, learn the language, and then be able to then sprout out on your own. Yeah, I mean, it's, it's, it takes a lot of work. It takes trust in yourself, but some trust in others as well, to help you move along. And that's why I'm so grateful to have you on the show. Because, you know, we met and you've helped me move along, I tried to help you move along and move up the ladder each day. And that's, that's again, what it's all about is lifting up yourself, and then lifting up others. Yeah. So tell me from your journey, then, after you came and you learn more English, and you're not ordering mashed potatoes, that what happened next?
Nim Stint:I went to McDonald's instead. So So I have my badass aha moment when I drive through to McDonnell. And I ordered strawberry milkshake for the first time. And they give me strawberry milkshake, though, and I know that I can speak English, I have more confident they understand me. And I start to just play. You know, I think we as an adult, like we forget to play we seek we live in so much fear, right? And we forget to like, just get out and do it. You know, children, they know what they want. But they don't know the how, right and they make mistakes. They fall, they get hurts, but they get back up and they're very determined. And they do it again. I love this for my daughter.
Howard Brown:So you went through the drive thru, you successfully ordered a strawberry milkshake? Okay, yeah. And now you're ordering happy meals for the younger kids. And now they're growing up. So that's it, and you felt accomplished. That's your moment that you've
Nim Stint:had as moment Howard like that? Or is badass moment in America, like, you know, to go drive thru to McDonald's?
Howard Brown:That's amazing. It's amazing. And so when did you when did you start to go into business for yourself?
Nim Stint:Um, because of the dance that I have, you know, the background is very specific. It's not like contemporary modern or jazz or anything. So I could not find a full time job. I was at a different university here in Phoenix, they invite me to be guest teacher for the dance department. But there's no money to hire me as a full time faculty. Right. So then I thought, Okay, what should I do? What should I do? One day Community College here in Phoenix, asked me to teach yoga. And because they saw that I have a degree in India, they assume that I can teach yoga. So I say why not? I need money anyway. So I was a fake yoga teacher for three months. So I wash YouTube, before my class, and then I went to teach yoga and I'd go back to watch YouTube again for the next class. I teach yoga again, until after three months, I thought, oh, man, Can I curse you? Yes. Oh, shit, right. I can't teach yoga anymore. Otherwise I hurt people. Right? So then I I went to yoga teacher training, I got trained, I know how to teach now. And then I started teaching yoga, power, five to six different studio and Jim a day, didn't have time to have breakfast with my kids, have dinner with my family, just make enough money to pay my bills. $19 $25 an hour and that's it. Driving around. I was in the big, big, big depression because I was helping people feeling better about themselves. But I feel depressed myself. Right because I, you know, money is, is big thing, right? I mean, it's a vehicle isn't can pay bills, you can make your life convenience. But I didn't have that at that time. So I just like keep working hard, keep punching fear in the face, but yet didn't see the result. And then I went to I remember I said, How can I make money from this yoga business. So I went to Santa Monica for a weekend spending $3,000 learning from the Master, how to how to do the yoga business. And they said you either, you know, on a yoga school for teaching other people to be a yoga teacher, charging three or 5000, or at a time per person, or you host a yoga retreat. So I have that idea of hosting a yoga retreat. Instead of opening a yoga school. I asked my family in Thailand who, you know, my family on a beautiful resort on the mountain, I asked, Hey, can I use this property to host my retreat? I'm going to bring people from America to Thailand, and everyone in my family said, how can you make this happen? You know, because they didn't believe that I'm going to make this happen. My first group of the people from America went to Thailand with me, we have 15 people. And I hire my mom to cope, I hire my aunt, my uncle to clean and everything. And we make we make it a business. So year after year, I host a yoga retreat after that making money, having fun in the sun, way in bikini at the beach and still making money. Like super, super fun, kind of like a dream job, right? And then COVID Hit Howard COVID head, I have clients aside up throughout the year for my yoga retreat past 13 More countries that I signed a contract to host a yoga retreat at and I have to refund 10 1000s of dollars to claim that I did not even have. So I asked my friend who is very successful in his career. And he said, Ma'am, do you know that you can file a bankruptcy and that woke me up. And I drive around I you know, apply for job at Sprout at Walmart at Costco. And I did not get any job. And that's what we up to. I don't know why maybe because I'm not Americans or I over qualified, I don't know. But I feel that this is the blessing I always say to myself name obstacle is to ditch water the right direction. obstacle is the detour the right direction.
Howard Brown:I love that. I will tell you, so you started improvising as an entrepreneur, you watch YouTube video, you train, then you got the formal training, you invested in yourself? Yes, then COVID hit. I mean, you started with these destination, yoga, yoga tours, which was going to be a business. And then COVID and bankruptcy knocked you down. And as I say, when you get knocked down, you have to learn how to get back up again. Again, and again. Well, as quick as you can, but I agree. So but you know, again, you got to pay the bills, you got to take care of the kids, you got to do it more quickly than most. So I wanted people to hear that. Because things haven't been easy for you, you actually had to make your way and you've been knocked down a bunch. And so take us now, okay, to the formula, which is your brand. Okay, about going all in? How did that come about? What does that mean? And and how did you do it?
Nim Stint:Oh, well, I mean, so after, you know, my friend said, Do you know you can prior to bankruptcy? And that's what we have? And I was like, No, I'm not going to do that. I'm gonna do something different. And I don't know, just the idea of writing the book. And I asked myself, if people talk about newsstand, what I want them to know about me. I always go in all in in everything I do. So then I say okay, I want to teach a concept about go all in. I wrote the book all in became a bestseller. People ask me, How do you do what you do? Then I start to tell people for free. But then more people start to reach out and ask how do you do what you do name? And I thought, okay, I can make money from this. And that's how it's turned into a business.
Howard Brown:I think it's incredible because what you did is you turned your brand and what's in your core, okay? into being able to teach people okay, how to do it themselves, to receive that inspiration, that motivation, that education in order to one lift themselves up, get back up again and be able to then do it themselves. And so then you started helping people also write their own books. Yes. And become bestsellers. Yes, I
Nim Stint:believe that I am a multiplier. I want to to make a bigger impact, but I know that if I do it by my Sal is not big enough. That's why I want to help influencer, who can go out and impact more people in this world more than just me. So Howard, I help you you go help more people and help more people. And, you know, all the authors and speaker help more people. And I just, I'm just the multiplier, I'm here as an instrument of God.
Howard Brown:I'm gonna add one more word to you a force multiplier, force multiplier
Nim Stint:for a battery for breakfast everyday.
Howard Brown:Yes, yeah, you do. It's in your bio, you eat triple A batteries, you're the Energizer Bunny there. So then, by also showing people how to write their book, make it a best seller. You also judge books throughout the year, international impact Book Awards. And I want to tell you, I applied for the inspiration category. And in September of last year, I was awarded the international impact Book Award by your organization. And it just, I was so proud to be recognized for my work, I poured my life that three years of my life into telling my memoir, and my story and about cancer and about resolve and, and shining brightly. And so it actually, I'm an award winning, best selling author, and you help that you helped me and I'm grateful for that.
Nim Stint:Well, Howard, and everyone who listened to this podcast, impact international impact Book Award is not only a few people apply in the US, this is international, we have people from Singapore, from UK, from Germany from Austria, that apply and, and you know, this is this is not easy, this is not happening easy. So Howard, and your book, like you deserve this recognition.
Howard Brown:Well, I first of all, I thank you for that. And it's a to just be recognized for the three years of work on Zoom and getting that for my words, to a transcript to drafts to to actually a manuscript, it validated my effort. And all I ever wanted to do was to leave a legacy and to the book is obviously talks about my life at cancer and entrepreneurism. But in all my, my, my volunteer service, but it's really a resilient guide to living a good life. And, and you recognizing that helped me a lot, and I so appreciate that. And so then, all of a sudden, you invited me down to come to your studio, and interview on TV. So I'll spread the word. I know, I know. But it's just an amazing thing that you have your own television show on ABC 15 In Phoenix, and I flew down and to meet you, and we got to interview and we got to discuss me and the book. And I get to promote that, you know, on television. And so it's just another thing that you do that that basically helps push, push my brand further, and I had a blast with you. And we went to your favorite Thai food restaurant for lunch. But really, I'm telling you people are telling me that they're listening to the program that went on air in Phoenix, but now it's gone on air everywhere because I've shared it far and wide. And it added to my brand and added to my credibility. And again, why you are my coach and my friend, I and client, you know, I'm your client is really great. And then I want to talk next because you just came you do this twice a year. What is go all in fest.
Nim Stint:Okay, so imagine, like TEDx event, TEDx stage, but it's focused more on motivational message because TEDx doesn't looking for motivational speaker right it is look for idea, idea worth spreading. My goal in fifth is idea inspire change. So the idea that can inspire some change and some impact in life. So go on in fast is the players the stage the platform, where motivational speaker who has an impactful story, can get featured and can stand up and share on this stage we, we dance, we have fun, we create the safe space for our audience. My goal is to to build this community of, of changemakers so that we can go out in a more powerful way to impact is this committee this well,
Howard Brown:we're all going to learn how to eat AAA batteries just like you. That's all you got to do. Yeah, that's what we do. So I I'm just amazing with the goal and fest, but not only the message and the quality of the stage that you provide is truly awesome. But you always have a charitable component. And this is the give back. And so I'd like you to speak about that that for goal invest. And then I want you to tell You bought what you do in countries around the world with playgrounds, so
Nim Stint:yes, so because I came from the third world country of Thailand when I was a little kid I always curious like, why playground stuff always broken, you know, is it's not a safe place to be seriously, but I, you know, I want to pay right kids want to play. So now that I ended up in the position that I can go back and give back. That's why I want to do the playground. So I we collecting some ticket sales, right and the profit is go toward playground, my project is playground around the world. So I want to do playground for the third world country kids around the world. And because I mean, look at playgrounds in the United States, you know, every neighborhood had a nice playground, but not in all the country. So I want to give the joy directly to kids, instead of giving them you know, money or whatever, even adult money to do something for the kids giving it directly to the kids. We partner with some other local nonprofit as well. Lastly, last October, we went to playground with 15 people from United State went to the Thailand, the nonprofit organization be good to good spread, supporting us to buy playground to donate hundreds of backpack and feed them lunch. This time in October, we going back to Thailand again. And again, Thailand is not the only country that I will help, we will spread more work for that. I have my own charity, my own nonprofit is called promise from above. And and promise from above this time, it's going to help you the playground for the kids in Thailand as well, different school.
Howard Brown:I know and you've done it in other countries as well, when you see the kids on the on the swing are going down this slide. And then you see the parents, I mean, I've seen the pictures myself, and I'm gonna I'm gonna put some links in the show notes for people to click to that I that is beautiful work. That's, that's that's really the most important thing. And I, I listen, you're an amazing executive and amazing entrepreneur, you don't stop. But here's that that's the most beautiful piece in them is that you want to take care of others, and that don't have as much not as fortunate. And you've never forgotten where you've come from. And now you're giving back and giving a child a safe place to play on a swing set. And you're inviting others to do that with you. I have to tell you, that is so beautiful. And thank you for doing that. And I want to help you do that as well, because that's part of me. And I would love to join in, join hands on that and do that. Now you also just published a new book. Yes, tell us about the new book.
Nim Stint:So the title of the book is built from broken. And the subtitle is who says it can be magic. I believe the magic is everywhere, right. And we are the one who created magic to so do from broken is a little bit of my story of where I came from. And I believe that everyone can create the life that they want live with full potential, it might sounds very normal, we hear that every day. But from go all in to boot from broken. If you use this concept and and mindset every single day, you're going to get to where you want to be and create this magic for yourself and for others around you.
Howard Brown:It's amazing. And again, another best seller, your third one, right? Yes. Third one. We'll put all these in the notes and how to get in. Get your book and all those service offerings you have especially the playground stuff as well. Do you sometimes you have a freebie or something for my audience that you want to offer?
Nim Stint:Well, you know, I think everyone have a story, have you one has a message, why not start writing the book, you know, and don't procrastinate. Don't think that you're going to need an hour a day or 10 months or a lot of money. Whatever it is that you don't, you don't even have to have money to start. So my free gift for your audience is my fill in the blank bestseller book template. This is the template that I used to write my book. This is a template that my client used to write that book.
